Your dog’s needs may change as they get older, but one thing doesn’t: you want to give them the best life you can.
Pet Parents Wellness helps you navigate those changes with practical education, useful tools, and trustworthy recommendations—so you can better understand what you’re seeing at home, make more informed everyday care decisions, and have better conversations with your veterinary team.
We’re not here to diagnose your dog or replace your veterinarian.
We’re here for the space between the veterinary appointment and everyday life at home.
Most of your dog’s life doesn’t happen in an exam room. It happens with you.
You’re the one who notices when the stairs take a little more effort, when walks get shorter, when your dog hesitates before jumping into the car or starts doing something differently than they used to.
Sometimes those changes are part of getting older. Sometimes they deserve a closer look. Either way, noticing them matters.
Pet Parents Wellness helps you understand what to watch for, how you can support your dog at home, and what may be worth discussing with your veterinarian.
That same philosophy is behind our Senior Dog Longevity Blueprint. It brings essential information about healthy aging together in one practical resource, helping you think more intentionally about nutrition, mobility, preventive care, comfort, and quality of life.
The blog helps you learn. The Blueprint helps you put the pieces together.
If you've ever searched online for answers about your pet, you've probably noticed there's no shortage of advice. Our goal at Pet Parents Wellness isn’t more noise. It’s helping you see what actually matters for the pet you know best.
We aim to make good information easier to understand and more useful when you're standing in your kitchen wondering what your dog needs.
We translate complex topics about healthy aging into approachable information you can actually use, informed by established veterinary guidance and credible research.
Our resources help you organize what you’re learning, notice patterns, prepare better questions, and think more intentionally about your dog’s everyday care.
When we recommend a product, service, or resource, it should have a clear reason for being here and a potential role in helping you care for your dog. Education comes first. Recommendations come second.

Healthy aging isn’t about trying to stop your dog from getting older. And it isn’t about doing everything perfectly.
It’s about paying attention to changes. Making thoughtful choices about nutrition, movement, comfort, and everyday care. Working with your veterinary team when something doesn’t seem right.
And sometimes, it’s simply about letting a good day be a good day.
Your dog doesn’t experience life as a checklist of health goals. They experience the walk around the neighborhood. Their favorite place to nap. The sound of the treat bag. Being near the people they love.
Those ordinary moments are why this matters.
So when caring for an aging dog starts to feel complicated, come back to one question:
What does the dog in front of me need now?
I’m Michael Pearson, founder of Pet Parents Wellness.
Dogs have always held a special place in my life, and my passion for them is a big part of why I created Pet Parents Wellness. As dogs grow older, I believe the everyday relationship we have with them becomes even more important—not less.
My professional background also shaped how I approached this project. I hold an MBA, a bachelor's degree in communications, and multiple certifications in fitness, nutrition, senior wellness, corrective exercise, and exercise therapy.
Those credentials don't make me a veterinarian, and I won't pretend they do.
What they have taught me is the importance of taking complicated health and wellness information, looking carefully at the evidence behind it, and turning it into something people can understand and put into practice.
That is the role I want Pet Parents Wellness to play for dog parents.
Not replacing your veterinarian. Not diagnosing your dog from an article. Not promising some secret formula for longevity.
Instead, we want to help you notice more, understand more, ask better questions, and become an even stronger partner in your dog’s care.
